Vision Therapy & Training Center
Pediatric Eye Doctors

Over 80% of learning is visual and 1 in 4 children have vision problems that impact learning. This increases to over 60% in children with learning issues and developmental delays. Many times, your child will see "20/20" but may have issues with reading, handwriting, paying attention, or doing well on tests. The irony of vision is that it is hard to "see" what our child is seeing. Often parents will tell me, "My child is bright but struggles to succeed."

A Developmental Vision Evaluation can determine if your child has a learning-related vision problem. The National Institute of Health has published studies that the most common learning-related vision problem can be treated effectively with Vision Training (Click here for a summary of the study.)

My goal is to help you help your child to have strong vision and smiling eyes.

Warmly,

Austin's only Board Certified Vision Training Doctor.

Vision Therapy/Vision Training in Austin, Texas

While traditional Optometry deals with glasses, contacts and the "hardware" that allows for clear eyesight, Vision Training/Vision Therapy works on the "software" that coordinates the brain, eyes, and body for vision that helps learning, development and function.

FOR CHILDREN: Studies show that 25% of all children and 75% of all children with learning delays have an undetected vision problem that could benefit from Vision Training. Many of these children measure 20/20 during screenings and even at eye exams. They are often labeled "lazy, ADD/ADHD, dyslexic, slow learners and those working below potential." Click for a checklist of vision issues in children that can be treated with Vision Training. (PDF document)

FOR ADULTS: Over 65% of all pathways in the brain involve vision. Many people with 20/20 vision suffer from computer eyestrain, headaches, poor coordination, clumsiness and driving problems and may benefit from a program of Vision Training.
